Mason County P.U.D. No. 3 Board of Commissioners will hear an appeal of the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) determination of non-significance for the John's Prairie Operations Center. The SEPA determination was released in October and resident Tom Pearson is appealing it saying that staff did not make an appropriate determination.
To defend the determination, the P.U.D. has retained Patrick Schneider, an attorney with the Seattle law firm of Foster Pepper. Since the P.U.D. 3 Commissioners will be ruling on the appeal they have been informed that they will NOT be able to talk with anyone, staff or the Community, about the appeal. A pre-hearing conference has been scheduled for 11 AM January 5th.
