Two Allyn residents were injured in a crash on Highway 3 in Gorst Monday night. The State Patrol reports that a 1991 Pontiac Grand Am was northbound on SR-3 approaching the intersection with Sam Christopherson Road about 6 PM. The Pontiac was unable to stop for traffic, went around the stopped traffic on the left and then attempted to drive through the red signal light. The Grand Am struck a 1999 Buick Century head-on in the intersection. The driver of the Pontiac, Charles M. James, 40 of Everett, was transported to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton with leg and chest injuries. The Allyn residents in the Buick, 68-year-old Douglas R. Hepting and 67-year-old Yvonne C. Hepting, were also taken to Harrison, both suffering chest pain.
